Worm-cast compost

Worm-cast compost, often called “black gold,” is a nutrient-rich soil amendment made by earthworms. This organic fertilizer enhances soil structure, boosts water retention, and supports plant growth. Packed with vital nutrients like nitrogen, phosphorus, and potassium, it nurtures plants for vibrant blooms and healthy yields.

Living Green Worm-Cast Compost

We distinguish ourselves through our unique composting processes

Living Green Horse Manure Compost
Horse Manure Compost
  1. Obtainment of horse manure.
  2. Horse manure is carefully stacked into forced aeration composting bays (to allow air pockets).
  3. After 48/72 hours, the temperature will reach over 70 degrees Celsius (This kills any pathogens and weed seeds).
  4. The compost is subject to forced air pulses every hour to ensure the thermophilic bacteria is fully activated.
  5. After four weeks, the compost is moved to the next aeration / composting bay. The compost movement between aeration bays is a 6-stage process.
  6. The compost is transferred to a curing shed for another eight weeks.
  7. The compost is screened to 20mm (To remove horseshoes and larger lumps)
  8. The final product is blended with other products before being bagged and ready for delivery.

Words from happy customers

Woodies

Initially, I came across Living Green organic compost in a local garden center and tried it as several people had mentioned this ‘organic compost from Donegal’. After seeing my growing success from it, I was eager to include it as part of our compost offering in 2023. Neil and the team have been excellent to work with; they are always eager to support and help us. We look forward to continuing to work with Living Green in 2024 and beyond.

What the gardeners say...

“Beautiful compost. Dark, rich colour & a fine, crumbly texture. Best I’ve ever used. Perfect for my no-dig organic garden. I use it for sowing all veg, herbs and edible flowers, yearly mulching to feed the soil, beds and the base of fruit and nut trees.”

What the gardeners say...

“Without a doubt, an amazing compost! Every seedling and plant I have grown in it absolutely loves it! I have posted YouTube videos and Instagram photos of my success using Living Green. The compost flows like sand, retains water well, but drains great. I really can’t stress enough how good this stuff is! Thank you.”
